I'm really bad about that. I mean, if I see something that would look nice in my home office, I'm probably going to snatch it. It is being used for work. Well, okay, so not always.
When we first started this little work from home venture, due to "the virus", I had to run into the office and water my bosses plants. (this was two years ago, so I'm sure those things are WAY dead by now.)
While I was in there, I took the hand sanitizer. Who was using it? No one. And there was none to be found so I shoved that in my bag, along with some bottled water, which, I had actually purchased for the department so really, that was mine. The batteries were not mine. But I figured my mouse or keyboard might go dead and since that's work related, I should go ahead and take some with me. Also, what if the batteries in my Fire Stick died.
I don't work in that department any longer though. And no, I wasn't moved because they were missing batteries, or hand sanitizer, or water. Or a box of staples and some pens.
So I still have my home office but I also have another office. It's about an hour or so away and it's a really nice office. I was down at this office two weeks ago. I didn't take anything. Okay, I'm lying. But I left the batteries. I did score me some company swag though. A nice cup that will keep my coffee hot or my Dr. Pepper cold. I also grabbed a regular coffee cup while I was there as well. I mean, I don't really need another coffee cup because I have about 50 at home that are sitting in my cabinet. But I didn't have one with the company name on it.
I'm back down here today. In the office. And I literally just walked out of the door and to my car with a new office chair. Well it's not super new to because it's used but it's new to me. And I really do need a new office chair at home. The one I have now, the seat is getting ready to fall off. I kind of teeter totter when I sit on it.
HOWEVER, and let me be clear.
This chair was given to me by the director of the company. I did not think, "Oh, let me just grab this chair and wheel it out to my car." No, that was not the case.
No one offered to help me take it but that's okay. I wheeled that bitch out like a champ. Down the hall, to the elevator and out the back door to the parking lot.
I'm really excited about getting this office supply. And it was completely legal.
I don't know what I'll be able to find next to top that.
